Energy Mark President,
Howard Illian is an internationally recognized leader in the field of
energy economics. In addition to developing numerous mathematical techniques for use in simulation and decision-making
within the electric utility industry, he has published over 50 research papers. He has also testified as an expert
witness before the Illinois EPA, the Federal EPA, and the Illinois Commerce Commission. Recent work includes significant
contributions to the development of the new NERC Control Performance Standard and the development of technical
definitions for the real energy Ancillary or Interconnected Operations Services and their market implementation.
Prior to joining Energy Mark, he held the position of as Vice President/Practice Manager of the Electric Operations
Practice at Cirrus Technologies. He also has over 30 years of experience with ComEd, most recently as Director
of Technical Services.
Vice President of Technical Services, Jeffrey Illian
is nationally recognized for his contributions in the field of Information Technologies. Recently Jeff co-authored
a series of articles on CORBA that are currently being published in "Linux Journal". He has served as
Development Services Practice Manager for Chicago Area and Development Services and Enterprise Support Services
Practice Manager the Columbus, Ohio offices of Cirrus Technologies. At Cirrus, he was involved on projects as the
project manager and technical lead. Before joining Cirrus, Jeff was a Management Consultant for Booz·Allen
& Hamilton in the Electrical, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Group. While at Booz·Allen, Jeff developed
economic models to analyze the affect of competition on individual utilities in the industry; economic models to
value utility assets and utility liabilities for mergers and acquisitions; and economic models to forecast market
energy prices for the entire Eastern interconnection. Before joining Booz·Allen, Jeff was a Technical Project
Leader at Abbot Laboratories. At Abbot, Jeff received the 1993 Chairman's Award and 1994 Information System Innovation
Excellence Award. As an independent consultant, he helped develop the statistical and mathematical description
of frequency control that is currently being used as a basis for the NERC Control Performance Standard.
Vice President Operations / Marketing Jeanie Illian earned
an MBA from Dominican University. She has over 20 years managing, running, and consulting with start-up companies
in the areas of operations and marketing/advertising. She has taught Business Management at the International Academy
of Fashion and Design and at Dominican University. As Operations & Marketing Manager at RPE Inc, a software
development firm, she was responsible for product management, beta testing and product launch. She served as Project
Manager and Graphic Design Specialist for software clients for the advertising agencies of Taub Enterprises and
It's A Concept. Most recently she held the position of Manager of Creative Services at Kolcraft Enterprises, Inc.
At Kolcraft, she managed advertising and marketing communication and assisted in new product design. Fantasy Factory,
a retail store she helped design and manage, was chosen as the one of the top ten children's boutiques in the nation
by Harper's Bazaar.
Howard, Jeff and Jeanie all earned their B.S. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.
